Baby Blessing

Michael and I have been debating over dates to do Zachary's baby blessing. With the holidays we wanted to make sure it would be a weekend that isn't too crazy. We've decided that it really isn't possible to do that, especially this time of year, so we are going to bless Zach on Jan 2. We haven't called and told people yet, but we will. We just wanted to give everyone a heads up if you want to come!

Two Weeks of Family

We were very lucky to have a lot of family come and visit us the past two weeks. The Monday after Zachary was born, Theresa, Michael's sister, came down for a week with two of her kids, Madison and Rett. She was a lot of help! I was able to sleep in every morning and didn't clean much of anything in my house. It was fun to have her kids too, they were very good at keeping Samantha entertained. Theresa even babysat the kids her last night here while Michael and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie. Thanks Theresa!!!!!

The day that Theresa's husband and son, Robby, came to get her and the other kids, my brother's family and my sister Kathryn came by. Lawrence's family only stayed a few hours, but it was sure fun to see them. Their daughter, Ethne, is the funniest, most active little one year old! Kathryn stayed with us the entire week. She was a lot of help too!

On Monday, Michael's dad and step-mother came. We didn't do much while they were here, but it was kind of nice to just take it easy and enjoy the company. Kathryn took some pictures of Randy and Sally with the kids for us.

Samantha loves anyone who will read her a story! Grandma Sally was very good at that!!!

While Randy and Sally were here, Jon and Sunny's family came for a few hours as well. They brought some baby clothes for Zach and some dress ups for Samantha. Samantha tried on just about all of them the next day!
The day Randy and Sally left, my parents and my other sister, Eliza, came for Thanksgiving.
It was nice that Samantha didn't take any time to warm up to them. She has seen them enough now that she remembers them!

Kathryn took some family pictures for us while she was here.

I get asked a lot how Samantha is handling having a baby . I think this picture says it all! She loves him!

He sure is a cutie!!!

Samantha got a little sick of company I think. She did NOT want her picture taken with Kathryn. Little stinker!

It was sure fun having everyone come visit. I know that they mainly came for Zach and Samantha, but Michael and I enjoyed everyone too!!!!

We're Home!!!....And we have more pictures.

Zachary and I are home! Things were a little scary for a while yesterday. Zach's heart rate was not high enough even with me on oxygen and laying on my side. We had to have an internal monitor. He just didn't like the pitocine, so we had to stop labor for an hour and do an amniocentesis. After an hour break we started again slowly. Thankfully things went well and we didn't have to have a c-section. I thank my wonderful doctor and nurses for that. I think most doctors wouldn't have been patient enough to fix the situation. We have been very blessed the last 48 hours to have things that looked like they could really go badly, turn around and go well. Thanks for all the prayers. I know that is why we were so blessed!!!!

Almost Done Waiting

Just got back from the doctor. He said this baby looks like he's ready to come. If I haven't had him by next Wednesday morning, I'm going to be induced. I'm not thrilled about the idea of being induced, so hopefully he will come on his own before then. If not, it's nice to know he's almost here!

Visitors and Halloween Party

A couple of weeks ago we had a lot of fun with visits from family and a Halloween party in Logan. My parents and sisters came for the weekend and left Eliza (my youngest sister) with us for her last week of spud harvest (in some Idaho school districts, students get 2 weeks off of school since most of them work in the potatoes during harvest time). The next weekend, Michael's brother, Jon, and his family came to see us. We had a lot of fun seeing family! It's nice to have a place where they can come and stay! After Jon's family left, we headed to Logan for a Stone Family Halloween Party at my Aunt and Uncle's house.
Samantha loved being a puppy!!!! She even got second place in the costume contest!
My cousin just returned home from his mission in NYC. Here he is with my sister Kathryn. They are only a few days apart in age!!!

This is my Aunt Angela. She was the hostess and did an amazing job!!! I don't think I've ever met anyone more creative than her. I've also never seen a house so full of Halloween decorations!

Samantha spent much of the night in this position with her Grandpa or Grandma.

My sister Eliza and cousin Alex.

Michael went as a cowboy, but the hat didn't stay on for very long.

My Grandpa Averett won the costume contest. He had his "pet donkey" tied up in the back.

We played pumpkin carving pictionary! Michael and I helped with the second one from the left. Any guesses? ........It's the Brady Bunch.

What a tired girl!
There was so much food!!! Some of it was very creative.
The next pictures are some Kathryn took while she was at our house. She needed some pictures for a project she is working on in school.

Fun Stuff For Free!!!

Michael and I have been talking about how we would like to find some fun things to do for free around here so when family or friends come to visit we can have something to do, but not have to spend much money. This past weekend some old college friends came to town. We met them in Salt Lake and took a tour of the Capital Building and the Conference Center; we went to the top of the Church Office Building, and we saw the Kimball/Whitney grave site. It was really fun and all of it was free. I will admit that we got a little sick of touring places by the time we were done, but it gave us some ideas of free things to do!

Labor Day Weekend Fishing

I know Labor Day Weekend was little while ago, but I just got copies of some pictures that my sister Kathryn took during our fishing expedition. All of the Idaho Robbins came to my parents house and joined my family in fishing. My parents filled their pond with fish and it is time get the fish out before the water is drained from the canals. We had a great time! Robby caught the first of 25 fish! After gutting and filleting the fish, my dad grilled all 25 and we ate up. It was wonderful!!! My mom had some salads and cakes to go with the fish. The kids even had a great time fishing and playing in the yard. We will have to do this again some time! I hope you enjoy the pictures. These are just a few of the over 200 pictures Kathryn took. Thanks Kathryn!!!
