Fun Stuff For Free!!!

Michael and I have been talking about how we would like to find some fun things to do for free around here so when family or friends come to visit we can have something to do, but not have to spend much money. This past weekend some old college friends came to town. We met them in Salt Lake and took a tour of the Capital Building and the Conference Center; we went to the top of the Church Office Building, and we saw the Kimball/Whitney grave site. It was really fun and all of it was free. I will admit that we got a little sick of touring places by the time we were done, but it gave us some ideas of free things to do!

Labor Day Weekend Fishing

I know Labor Day Weekend was little while ago, but I just got copies of some pictures that my sister Kathryn took during our fishing expedition. All of the Idaho Robbins came to my parents house and joined my family in fishing. My parents filled their pond with fish and it is time get the fish out before the water is drained from the canals. We had a great time! Robby caught the first of 25 fish! After gutting and filleting the fish, my dad grilled all 25 and we ate up. It was wonderful!!! My mom had some salads and cakes to go with the fish. The kids even had a great time fishing and playing in the yard. We will have to do this again some time! I hope you enjoy the pictures. These are just a few of the over 200 pictures Kathryn took. Thanks Kathryn!!!

Miniature Golf, Ice Cream, and Music

This weekend we decided to explore the area a little. We started out by finding a miniature golf course in Lehi. It wasn't the most exciting course, but Samantha loved it!
She would get the ball in every time. She set up and swung her putter.

It never went far so she would pick up the ball when it was close to the hole and....

SCORE!!! The ball conveniently got right into the hole! It was a little hard for Michael and I to keep our scores with her help.

Afterward we saw a sign for a farmers market at Thanksgiving Point. I wanted peaches, so we stopped. It was fun to walk around and see what was there. The ice cream shop had cheap ice cream cones so we decided to stop. Samantha loved her first ice cream cone!!! Needless to say, she was quite the mess for the ride home.

.
Later that day we went exploring in the mountains just a few blocks from our house. We discovered a lot of trails and camping spots. There were trees everywhere so it was nice and shady. Next time any of you come to visit we now have a fun, free place to go!!!! It was beautiful!!!!
You probably noticed that we have music on our blog again. This is for Samantha. She LOVES dancing. Her nursery leaders even commented on how she dances all the time. All the music on our blog is kids music for her to dance to. I hope you enjoy it as well!
