Family and Texas

Two weekends ago my parents and Eliza came down to visit and go to garage sales. On Friday, we invited Lawrence's family to join us for dinner. Micheal grilled hamburgers and we had a great time eating and talking!

Samantha and Ethne are getting so they play really well together. They had fun with the chalk and the cars.

After everyone had gone, Samantha decided she wanted to go get the mail with Michael. I told her she could if she first got her shoes from her room and put them on. She found some shoes that looked very similar. The only problem was that one was a size 5 and the other a size 8.

Sunday afternoon, my parents picked up Samantha and headed for Idaho while Michael, Zach, and I headed for the airport. Micheal had a business trip in Ft. Worth, TX and I decided to go with him. It's nice to be able to go on trips without it costing much money!!! We stayed in a really nice hotel, The Embassy Suites, with valet parking. We didn't do a whole lot, but it was nice to just be lazy for a while.
Zach and I hung out in the hotel room during the day while Micheal was at his class, also in the hotel. When he got done, then we would adventure out in the humid heat!!! It reached over 100 degrees pretty much every day!

This picture really says a lot about what we did that week!

This is the view from our room.
Here we are venturing out to find some dinner.

The traffic was HORRIBLE!!! We got in to town late Sunday, right after Dallas won the NBA Finals. Oh boy, was the traffic awful!! We were right in down town where all the bars were. There were cops everywhere. What made things worse, most of the streets are one way streets. Needless to say, we drove in circles before we were able to figure out where we needed to go. I think we ended up where we needed to be by accident. Michael tried to find us some dinner, but it was so late all he could find was a bar full of women in bikinis. We had crackers that I had packed for the plane ride for dinner that night. Yum!! We ventured out one more time in the car, but that was a disaster too, so we stuck with walking.

We had a great time, and Samantha did really well at my mom's house. She told my mom that "Daddy, Mommy, and baby Zach are at work." The other day she told me next time she wants me to go to work with her or to Grandma's house with her. Sweet girl!!! It's nice to be missed, but it's even better to be back home with my kids!!!
