Two More Interviews!

Job hunting continues! This week Michael had two interviews. The first was on Tuesday in Idaho Falls with a company called Knight Refrigerated. It is a trucking company and he would be working in the office. The second job interview was in Salt Lake. The job is actually in Provo with Kaplan University. That job would be working with students who are going to take different tests (like the MCAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, ACT, etc...). We really like both jobs and his interviews went well (he thinks) so we are hoping! We will hear from Knight by the beginning of next week and Kaplan somtime within the month. Hopefully we will have a job before the month is over!

Like a Good NeighBear State Farm is There!!!!

Today was the annual Fisherman's Breakfast held in St. Anthony. It is a huge community event where everyone comes to enjoy a free pancake breakfast. There is a long wait in line (I waited an hour and a half at least) and along the way there are booths set up by local businesses. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why it is such a huge event. It's really not that exciting, but everyone goes. People even let their kids skip all or part of school for this.

Anyway, Michael sighed the State Farm agent he is working for up for a booth, and, lucky him, he was chosen to come help out. His coveted position was that of the State Farm Good NeighBear! I guess since he's the intern he gets to do what nobody else wants to do and he gets to do it for free! He had to leave at 4:45 this morning so he could be to St. Anthony with their booth set up by 6:00. He has some pretty funny stories. He said he had never been huged by so many different types of people in his life. He was not allowed to talk the entire time he was in his costume; he didn't even talk to me!!! He said there were kids following him all the time. He had a group of kids that wanted their picture with him, and then they tried to push him over; he said he could have taken them! He had another little kid that followed him around for a few hours. He kept tapping Michael on the arm and told Michael he was doing a good job, then would hug him. This kid just kept following and hugging Michael for a long time. Michael was asked several times if he was a real bear. Of course he always shook his head yes, but one kid did not believe him. The kid said that bears don't stand up like people, they bend over on their paws, so Michael curled up his paws like a bear for the kid.

The hardest part of the whole experience was trying to walk around without tripping over people (especially small children that would hug him without him seeing them coming), his own big bear feet, and other obsticals that were not in his contract or line of vision.

Needless to say, it was quite a fun experience for Michael. He got to be a bear and now will be in the photo albums of half the children who attended the Fisherman's Breakfast (including Samantha's).

An Update from the Robbins in Idaho

It's been a while since we last posted. We decided it was time to let you know that we are still here and doing well. Our trip to Illinois was good. I feel like I learned a lot about Michael's family history and I got to know his siblings better.

We are doing well. Michael is working hard at his job and his internship. He is always busy from 8:30 til about 6:00, but it is nice to not have homework when he gets home. He also gets to come home for lunch between jobs, which is nice.

Samantha is growing like crazy!!! I can't believe how long she is. I'm not sure her exact length, but she has her 4 month appointment next week, so we will soon find out.

My job latly has been to job hunt for Michael. He doesn't have a lot of time at home, and the time he does have he doesn't want to be job hunting, so I took it on. We have applied for a lot of jobs mostly between Idaho and Utah. We haven't heard back from many, but we are still forging ahead with faith that somthing will come up!

We're leaving on a jet plane!

We are off to Utah tomorrow then we fly to Illionois on Monday. This will be our first plane ride since we've been married. We sure hope our little Samantha does well. Maybe she'll sleep!?! Probably not. Any advice?
Mike just finished his last semester of classes! Wahoo! When we get back from our trip he will be doing his internship here in Rexburg for a State Farm Agent. He will be doing all of their marketing; it is a great opportunity, and he is excited.

Our Red-Headed Cutie!!!

Here are the pictures we have been promising. These are all from her blessing day. It was a wonderful day. We are so blessed to have family near. We missed everyone that is far away.

For those of you who worried about how Michael would take to fatherhood, put your worries aside. He is a great dad and Samantha loves him!

Samantha with three sets of her great grand-parents. She can't wait to meet the rest of them!

Our girl is growing like a weed (a very cute weed). It seems like everytime we post pictures she has already out grown them. In these pictures you can't really see it, but our girl has red hair.

Samanta isn't the only cute girl that loved the camera that day. Madison was also quite the hit. She made friends with all of the dolls and Grandma Burt.

Since Samantha is the first grandchild on my side of the family she is very spoiled by her grandparents and her aunts and uncle. Hopefully she has even inspired Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Melissa to give her a cousin!

Grandpa is quite smitten with his new little princess!

Hope we havn't overloaded you with too many pictures!

More To Come....Promise

Our internet is down right now, that is why we haven't posted any new pictures for a while. I just happen to be at the library right now and I have a picture that was emailed to me by my sister-in-law, Melissa, so I thought I'd post it. As soon as our internet is back up we will post more pictures from Samantha's blessing day. For now, this will have to suffice.

At the hopsital. Grandparents' first visit.

Our first family picture and Samantha's first Sunday.

Samantha gives you all a smile as she gets burped.

Here are the better pictures for our wonderful friends and family who can't be here to see our precious baby in person. We hope to see you all soon.
